Samsung just said that they are making a Samsung’s bright ring. At the end of today’s Unpacked show, the Galaxy Ring was teased. The company briefly called it a “powerful and accessible” health and wellness
device. Little information was given about Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, but it’s more proof that 2024 will be a
year of rings competing with Oura Ring. Long ago, smartwatches were the best thing you could wear.
Intelligent rings have been on the edges, but at the end of Samsung’s Unpacked event earlier this week,
they gave us a sneak peek at the Galaxy Ring. That sounds like the company wants to change how
things are done in the world of wearables.

That might sound too dramatic since all Samsung did was show a flashy reel of a ring that sparkled and
had some sensors that could be seen on the inside of the band. Onstage, not much was said. But in an
email, Amber Reaver, a spokesperson for Samsung, said that the ring is meant to “empower more
people to manage their health with a comprehensive yet simplified approach to everyday wellness at
home.” Part of that is having accurate and consistent tracking data over a long period, which is why the
form factor is smaller. Reaver also said that the ring would always have “leading sensor technologies”
and be pleasant to wear. Analyst Avi Greengart said it’s light, comes in three finishes, and comes in sizes
up to 13. Some people at Unpacked also got to see a prototype. It will be available later this year.
